"Cable & Wireless (Barbados) selected Calix not only because its solutions enable us to bring more customers into our network but also because it provides us with a cost-effective way of greatly increasing our DSL and VOIP capability," said Ed Layne, Vice President Networks, Cable & Wireless (Barbados). "Our market is competitive, and with the Calix C7 we are able to maintain and increase our competitive advantage as we move to an IP-based network."
The Calix C7 allows Cable & Wireless (Barbados) to upgrade to an advanced, IP-based access network that will meet the needs of its residential and business customers now and well into the future and to deploy new IP-based services. The CMS advanced management and provisioning platform makes it easier for the operator to offer VOIP and other IP services as well as to leverage IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) applications as they become available. In addition, the advanced troubleshooting and fault correction of the CMS enable Cable & Wireless (Barbados) to provide exception service availability to its subscribers.
"Calix is a major force in the Caribbean, and our relationship with Cable & Wireless (Barbados) is instrumental in helping further increase our presence. Four of the largest service providers in the Caribbean now depend on Calix to deliver a broad array of advanced services to their customers," said Mark Dressler, director of sales, CALA region, for Calix. "A technically sophisticated and aggressive provider, Cable & Wireless (Barbados) is a rising star in the Caribbean, and we look forward to working with the company over the long term."
